THE NEED

Mid-Level and Senior Associates are required to delegate work to junior associates and staff on a daily basis. Most of these smart attorneys excel at sharing the legal strategies and client needs. However, they often spend little or no time on important logistical details and are unclear about expectations. This can lead to unnecessary extra work for both the delegator and the direct report. Essentially, the senior person is missing an opportunity to ensure great results, build their team, and create a loyal following by investing a few extra minutes into each conversation.

​Our coaches will help participants to acquire the skills and knowledge that they need to effectively delegate every time. In this highly interactive workshop, they will learn to enhance their future delegating conversations by including:

• Comprehensive client information.
• Overview of the entire project and how their work will fit into it.
• Who else is on the team at the firm.
• Sources for information and relevant documents.
• Ways that the senior person prefers to be contacted (and how often).
• Very specific expectations on the level and timing of the work.
• How deadlines affect others.

HOW WE WORK

This is not a lecture course! Participants will spend most of their class time in coached exercises and role plays.
